The Pursuit of Personal Responsibility

We should have a Chris Gardner day instead of MLK.  He did more by example.  How did liberal Hollywood ever allow this movie to make it to Theaters?  The Pursuit of Happyness depicts a minority with seemingly insurmountable problems rising above racism, poverty and just plain bad luck.  Does he blame others for his problems? Does he allow his situation to victimize him? No! A man could never have achieved Gardner’s level of success having done so.

The great thing about this story is how it transcends racial boundaries.  Chris Gardner is not a black role model; he is a role model – period.  Chris Gardner is the kind of American that should be celebrated.
