Republicans ran a campaign of keeping taxes low, finishing the war in Iraq and blocking gay marriage. Democrats ran a campaign of “We aren’t the evil Republicans, so vote for us instead.” Obviously, we have a weak-stomached citizenry who value the absence of something over a stance that makes it feel uncomfortable.
If terrorism scares you, just wait until the Democrats enumerate their positions in the form of legislation. Yikes!
